2019 Head of the Tweed
Details
Event information
Dear Dragons,
With the State Championships wrapping up the sprint phase of the 2019 season, we will be moving into long-distance events, the first of which is the Head of the Tweed (HOTT) being held on 23rd June. For those who haven't taken part in the HOTT before, it is a half-marathon head race on the Tweed River from Chinderah to Murwillumbah Rowing Club.
If you'd like to compete in this event, please register via Revolutionise by Wednesday, 1st May. From memory we had 21 rowers when we took part in the HOTT in 2017. It'd be great if we could have an even bigger contingent this year! I'll be looking to put crews together by the end of the State Championships and getting them on the water the following week so please register promptly.
With regard to transport, we will probably organise a bus to take us from Dragons Rowing Shed to Chinderah and then back to Albion from Murwillumbah once the event is finished. Also, last time we did the HOTT, we had a club lunch at the Tumbulgum Pub before heading back to Brisbane. We'll probably do the same again this year.
Kind regards,
John Dickson
Club Captain
